As you can see, there is a high risk when it comes to shooting a fight scene within a budget and time frame; and because of this, most action scenes from indie filmmakers come out looking like a generic 2 person dialogue scene.
Boring and unappealing with the simple shot-reverse shot, talking heads look.
I don’t know about you, but we sure don't have the luxury of all that time and money.
This means that being able to film a fight scene quickly AND efficiently WHILE looking action packed is SO important for every indie filmmaker to have in their repertoire.
Action scenes are meant to be set pieces, right?
